Shrine of Syed Pir Mehr Ali Shah (RA) (1859-1937) is located in Golra Sharif. He practically preached the teachings of Quran and Hadth (traditions of holy prophet). He also taught the lesson of equality and brotherhood. Our famous poet Allama Mohammad Iqbal consulted Pir Sahib when he needed explanation of perplexing issues in mysticism. Pakistan Railway has named a train service after him in recognition of his services for Islam. His son Pir Syed Ghulam Mohyuddin Babu Ji (RA) was fond of Railway engine for four reasons.
- First its endurance. It moves faster the more you feed it with fire.
- Second, its faithfulness. Whether you tie a first class compartment or a cargo train with it, it will carry all its co traveler to the same destination.
- Third, the spirit of sacrifice. It burns itself but brings pleasure to others and takes them to their destination.
- Four, the quality of steadfastness. It keeps on track and does deviate from its path.

As Ghalib had said.
Wafa Dari Ba Sharte Ustawari Asle Iman Hai Muray But Khana Mein to Ka’abey mein Garo Us Brahman Ko
( Keeping one’s commitment to one’s beliefs is the real test of faith. If a Brahman takes his last breath in his temple he deserves to be buried in Ka’aba)
